Feeling kind of run down lately. Haven’t been up to writing the whole long Alaska post I want to do. A week ago I promised weekly updates, I’m sure not going to miss the first one. Various things going on since I stopped blogging regularly:
The band is really coming together. We finally have a drummer, we have practically a whole set of original songs written. Hopefully in a few months we’ll be ready to actually get out there and play for people. We’ve been working on recording demos every weekend. We did the one with the hardest bass line last weekend, I have a nice blister on my index finger to show for that.
I’ve been settling into the new place, which has worked out extremely well. I actually have a porch and a little yard now so Brandon and I hosted for the 4th of July and had a little cook-out. All the major renovations are finally done and we’ve started setting up the music room in the basement.
I’m also settling into being a resident of Massachusetts. I’ve been here for 6 years but in college it’s all pretty transient, moving every few months an such. I’m actually getting my driver’s license changed and just got a primary care doctor here and so forth.
Since moving I’ve been biking to work more often than not. It’s much flatter and shorter than biking from my previous place, plus I never have to merge across three lanes of traffic. On the negative side I do need to bike straight through Harvard Square now. Even by Boston standards Harvard Square is a traffic engineering catastrophe, not to mention all the tourists there that don’t know how to cross the street.
