Wedding

Hello from the Acela Express.  It seems Amtrak finally got wifi.

I was in NJ for the weekend to attend the wedding of one of my high school friends.  He’s the first of our group to get married.  I’m still having a hard time getting my mind wrapped around the idea.  I’ve been out of school and working a job for a year now, but the idea that we’re grown ups now still seems bizarre.  When did that happen?

The wedding was a really good time.  Good to see people again, I don’t make it down very often.  The food there was fantastic, I think I ate enough for about 3 days.

Anyway, congratulations, Joe and Ali!

Moved In

I moved to my new place in Central Square 2 weeks ago.  I’m finally all unpacked.  (I can walk in my room without jumping over piles of stuff that needs to be put away!)

A big thanks to my parents, my sister and my uncles driving up from NJ and helping me move.  Also thanks to Garrett for helping us unload.  It went pretty smoothly.  It was a gray, gloomy, drizzly day but at least it wasn’t pouring.  It took 3 trips back and forth in my parents’ mini-van.

The renovations the landlord is doing for us are way late of course.  I don’t really have much of a kitchen yet and didn’t have a shower until this weekend.  Luckily we have a gym with showers at work, so it hasn’t been too bad.  I’m taking not having a kitchen as an excuse to check out all the restaurants in the area.  It’s expensive and not something I’d want to do all the time, but it’s been fun for a little while at least.  There are a lot of good ethic places around here.

Except for the renovations dragging on, I’m really liking the new place.  My commute is MUCH more pleasant now.  There are a lot more shops and things around here, pretty much anything I need I can walk into the square and get.  The parts of the place that the renovations are done on are actually really nice and the did a good job on.
