Off the steriods

I’ve been off the steroids for a few weeks now.  In terms of my condition I’m still doing pretty well, definitely not 100%, but drastically better than before going on them.  I’ve been feeling really tired since getting off them though.  Withdrawal I guess.  When you’re on steroids for an extended period of time you have to be taken off them slowly.  I had to take it every other day, then every 3 days to avoid.  It’s really dangerous to stop taking them all at once.  When I started them I felt cheerful and energetic and getting off them I’ve been feeling listless to a proportional degree.

So that’s why I haven’t been keeping up here.  I’m finally feeling mostly back to normal so I’ll be trying to catch up again over the next few days.

So it’s apparently it’s 112 years ago today that the first ride on Boston’s subway system took place.  Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be running very smoothly today.  I was pretty psyched when they recently created a website that would automatically renew a monthly pass on my Charlie Card.  Unfortunately it didn’t work and after I already paid and got to work I got an email that they had couldn’t charge my credit card.  Would have been nice if they tried to charge it 5 days before the end of the month and let me know then like the website is supposed to.  And if that weren’t enough on my commute home the Green Line was broken down.

I normally think the T gets picked on more than it deserves.  It has it’s share of problems, no question.  This article really hits it on the nose for me.  Still I’m pretty irked today.

Though they’re in some pretty massive debt and have lots of plans to expand.  As much as I’d like to see the T expand I think the money might be better spent on satisfying their current customers, getting service more frequent and reliable.
